When the papers of Dr. James Barrowman arrived at the Faculty of Medicine Founders’ Archive, there was no degree of order present. A small number of files were labelled with original titles but photographs and correspondence were scattered throughout the collection. These characteristics formed the framework for further arrangement and description.
The papers of Dr. Barrowman were acquired from Dr. John Crellin, John Clinch Professor of Medical History at Memorial University in September of 1999. The papers had been stored in the Dr. Kenneth B Roberts Historical Collection prior to their move to the archive.
No further accruals are expected.

Roberts Historical Collection in the Health Sciences Library by Dr. John Crellin when Dr. Crellin accepted the position of John Clinch Professor of Medical History. The papers were transferred to the archive in September of 1999 by Dr. Crellin and processed in January 2000.
