The Stephen Rupert Morris fonds consists of ledgers, 1898 - 1904; daily credit pink sales sheets, 1904 - 1911; transfer ledger sheets, 1904 - 1948; journals, 1904 - 1923; cash books, 1906 - 1923; and daily receipts, 1911 - 1929 for the Morris family companies of Joseph Morris; Joseph Morris and Sons; Fred J. Morris; and Morris and Company; cash books 1948 - 1970, expenditure book, 1948 -1970 and a journal, 1948 - 1970 for the Trinity Cabins; a photocopy of the Morris Family and Morris Business History; a collection of Christmas cards and 15 scrapbooks which contain photocopies of clippings, extracts, photographs, programs and other information relating to Trinity and the Trinity area.

This fonds contains the records of Murray Agencies & Transport Co., Ltd., a subsidiary company of A.H. Murray and Company, which was formed to build and charter vessels on commission and to transport freight to and from St. John's. It contains correspondence with local, Canadian and foreign suppliers, financial records, labour records and an extensive collection of shipping manifests and disbursement accounts.

The records are arranged in four series: Correspondence 1924-1966; Financial records, 1924-1965; Labour records, 1948-1966; and Shipping records, 1923-1964. The majority of the records are for the 1950s to 1966.

Fonds consists of the administrative and operational records of the association from 1965 to 1988/89, and some general files relating to issues of interest to the last president, Wayne Davis, up to 1995. The administrative records include the articles of association and incorporation, minutes of meetings, assessment of membership, and membership lists. The correspondence and general files contain the records of the general affairs and interests of the association, reports, and draft briefs. There are some financial records in the form of invoices and cheques. The financial statements for the association were included in the records of the annual general meetings. Some of the material includes explanatory notations made by Wayne Davis when he was reviewing the files prior to donating them to the Maritime History Archive.

The fonds is arranged in five series: Administrative records, 1938 (photocopy), 1973-1988; Financial records, 1980-1986; Correspondence and general files, 1965-1987; Briefs and publications, 1963-1984; Other material, 1976, 1990-1995. The fonds also contains copies of minutes of related associations: the Newfoundland and Labrador Marine Advisory Committee and the Newfoundland Sealers' Association.

The fonds consists of the personal papers and photographs of the Rennie family of St. John's, including sketches by Marjorie Rennie (1906), and by R. M. Rennie (1921 and undated); bank statements (1923-31, 1938); correspondence (1931,1936, 1937); Christmas cards (from Prime Minister of Newfoundland-1928, and Royal Canadian Legion-1984); poetry; song lyrics (1866); railway voucher for W. Picco for Royal Canadian Navy (1916). The fonds also includes newspaper clippings.

The fonds consists of records relating to the Rennie businesses including, client list (1982, 1984), R.M. Rennie professional appointment, correspondence with Agriculture Canada (1977), correspondence relating to property ownership (1892, 1893, 1896, 1963), record of labour book (1896-1897), documents relating to the Rennie Baking Company (1902, 1907), undated records of supplies for Rennie's Mill, sales and receipt books (1899-1900, 1956-1981), property maps of Whitbourne property for the National Defence (1742); Corner Brook Bowater's pulp and paper mill (1945); and lot of land leased to U.S.A (1942). The fonds also includes newspaper clippings relating to the Rennie businesses.

The fonds consists of a price book that lists the prices of a huge inventory of goods, supplies, fish and timber products and produce. The page heading on page 2 reads "Trinity current prices for cash and barter agreed on between Messrs. Robinson Brooking & Co. and R. Slade & Co." Entries are made for summer and winter prices from 1850-1858.

The fonds consists mainly of the financial records for the firm of Ryan Brothers of Trinity from the time the firm was established in 1906 to the end of the 1940s. Records include ledgers, which give individual accounts; day books, which record daily purchases and prices; store books, which provide details of the Ryan wholesale trade; inventory books; fish collections relating to the Labrador trade at Hawke Harbour; a statement of the firm's liabilities and assets, 1948. For much of the period of the firm's operation at Trinity, business was carried out through the barter or truck system. The exchange of goods for services, fish or produce is recorded in the ledgers. Also included are two volumes from an earlier period: Shareman's wages, 1904-1905, and a debt ledger for 1892-1893. It is possible that these volumes originated with James Ryan & Company King's Cove or Bonavista.

There is a large collection of catalogues of products which were sold at the store: china and glassware of all qualities, silverware, lamps and hardware, cutlery and flatware.
