Entries for the 1780s describe the early development of the Cape Ann chebacco boat fishery.

It includes daybooks; ledgers which are indexed by customer and/or supplier; memo books which contain information on various individual accounts; and cash receipt books. The fonds also includes two account books (1913-1916) and invoices and correspondence for the business of G.W. Gent of Trinity (1912-1916).

Ryan, Edmund JosephThe fonds consists of four account books from the Fishermen's Union store at Greenspond. It includes a daybook containing accounts with the Fishermen's Union Trading Co. Ltd. (1914); men's accounts (1916); and general ledgers (1918 and 1921). The accounts list individuals from Greenspond and nearby communities who traded at the "Union Store".
Fishermen's Union Trading Company (Greenspond, N.L.)Fonds consists of Laws' working files, the majority of which came from Laws' office as manager of NAFEL. Other material relates to the various government agencies and committees with which he was associated. The bulk of the material covers the years from 1936 to 1981, when Laws was a central figure in Newfoundland's fishing industry.

Laws, Frederick A. J.The fonds consists of a single ledger which contains client accounts for items manufactured at Green's forge,1899-1908. Of particular interest are the accounts of fittings for the various vessels that were built in the area.
Green Family ForgeThe fonds consists of the business records of the firm of Grieve and Bremner, for the period of its operation at Trinity, 1863-1902. It includes financial records, correspondence, diaries (photocopies), shipping records and accounts.
The financial records consist of complete sets of ledgers, journals, day books and store books, produce books, account books, stock books etc. from 1863-1902, which provide an account of the firm's business transactions, as well as information on the individual fishermen and planters throughout Trinity and Bonavista Bay, with whom the firm carried on their business. The correspondence includes letters mainly between the firm of Walter Grieve and Co. in St. John's and Grieve and Bremner at Trinity, and invoices of goods shipped by Walter Grieve from Scotland to Trinity. Shipping records include charter parties, sealing agreements, vessel accounts, and other papers relating to sealing and to individual vessels. A small series of accounts includes advances of pay to vessel crews and sealing crews. The fonds provides extensive information on the operation of the business, the sealing operation and the makeup of the crews of the sealing vessels, as well as the individuals who produced fish and produce for the firm.
