Prince of Wales Collegiate Archives
In the year 2000, Prince of Wales Collegiate celebrated the fortieth anniversary of the building on Paton Street. The school was originally called United Collegiate but the name was changed in 1964. As part of the celebrations, an archives was established and a room was set aside in the school for this purpose.
The mandate of the Archives is “to collect, preserve and make available, materials relevant to the history of Prince of Wales Collegiate. This would include all aspects of the United Church run schooling systems leading up to 1960 - the opening of the present building known as Prince of Wales Collegiate.”
The archive consists of yearbooks, photos, documents, videos, trophies, ephemera, and other related materials. Access is also available to school records and lists of alumni.
Access is by appointment and can be made through the school, or by e-mail.
There are photocopying services on site and some photos can be reproduced where we have negatives.
