Scope and content
This is Rev. George Pickering’s diary. It was written during what is likely his only trip to Labrador, a 1929 visit to North West River, Mud lake area. This diary is about 23 pages with some extra empty pages.

General note
Reverend George B. Pickering was born in Worcester, England. He was minister at Harbour Grace from 1925 to 1930, and then Wesley United Church in St. John’s from 1930 to 1937. Following that, he moved to Nova Scotia, where he became minister at Grace United Church in Dartmouth. He died in 1952 of a heart attack at his pulpit on a Sunday morning.
