History
D. D. Lovejoy (1840-1874), Catholic priest, was born in Ireland in 1840. He was ordained a priest in 1866 and later came to Newfoundland. Rev. Lovejoy was acting president of St. Bonaventure's College, St. John's, for the academic year 1871-72. After leaving Newfoundland in 1872, Rev. Lovejoy went to the the Diocese of Albany, New York. He died at Stephentown, New York, 11 June 1874.
